I had completed my engineering, in the midst of my first job hunt! This is way too back. I don't personally like looking back and thinking about the past, coz nothing really comes out of it.
It was on Oct 5th that my interview was scheduled in one of the MNC in my city. It was a rainy day, the weather looked dull since morning. Let me tell you I had big hopes of getting into this company. It was 3PM and I was on my way to this company. As expected, it started pouring heavily and I got almost fully drenched on the way. I had to be there on time, I had no option.
At 4pm I had my interview and to my surprise I was among the 5 people who got selected among around 50 people who had come there that day. As the b**** HR(I'll tell you why I call her that) announced it, it felt like one of the happiest news I had heard from a long time. I was overjoyed.
She said we'll be getting our offer letters the next day, so I went home partying! who wouldn't?
I phoned and sms'd many of my friends and relatives telling them about this. It was at 11PM on the next day(Oct 6) that I got a call from the same HR saying that I have not been selected due to my 10th Score(do history and geography and languages really matter in a software job??). I was dumbstruck and sad. What the b**** HR could have done is seen my resume properly before shortlisting me for the interview. Who's mistake is it? And did I have to pay so heavily? and what am i going 2 tell others?
One lesson I learnt that day is not to tell anyone anything and not to celebrate until you have a solid confirmation in hand. Coz you can't undo some things. Anyways I have a decent job now, but some things shouldn't be forgotten right?
